About

I live on a hilly 20 acre homestead in central Pennsylvania with my dear family of husband, our two children, and an array of entertaining animals.  When we bought this leaky roofed old place twenty years ago, I was naïvely confident that we would finish all the repairs and updates, now  I am beginning to wonder.

Textiles and color have always been “it” for me.  I spent countless hours playing with the scraps which fell from my mother’s cutting table, and was fascinated by the shapes and colors and textures of the antique crazy quilt I slept under on the coldest nights.  Beginning with a treadle machine as a young girl, I have been continuously striving to use stitch as my medium of expression.

Between bouts of homeschooling, tending gardens, and stacking wood, I have nurtured my love of textiles; teaching myself how to dye and paint fabrics through years of experimentation, and then using these fabrics to create stitched compositions.  I also branched off with these techniques on paper, and am now experimenting with wool.
